kleindorf-ART is pleased to be able to offer a broad variety of workshops, which will speak to artists of all types, from the beginner to the more advanced. Our goal is provide creative experiences at reasonable prices, utilizing the vast creative energy that is available in Berlin and in the surrounding area.  Our artists are all passionate about their work and see the whole creative process as a way of self-realization and not as a means of monetary enrichment.  Many speak of the healing nature of what they do, and all are committed to sharing that which they know with others.

Our concept allows for visitors to "COME and GrOw" as our program meets their needs, and consequently our bookings are flexible.  We charge a flat rate of €50 per day for accommodations, which includes a private room, all bedding and towels, full board (excluding alcoholic beverages), internet access and use of all of kleindorf-ART's facilities.  Our workshop schedule is shown below, and more information about the individual workshops can be found on the separate pages of this website.

by Sunna Bohlen
All my life, I've seen art as a form of adventure, a great journey that reconciles the body, mind and soul. As I step into the unknown world of the imagination, I free myself from the conventional common sense we have layered upon ourselves since birth, in order to heal the wounds of physical and mental frailty.
The ability of art to transform my feelings for the human condition allows me to have a unique, emotional, and intellectually fulfilling experience that goes beyond the limitations of body and reason. This great act goes beyond what I have learned and brings me to an innate understanding of myself and the world around me.
Since imaginations are like water, without the limitation of form,  I give myself permission to create an original image that is aesthetically pleasing and conveys deep meaning. Sometimes, I have a mental block that will not let me move forward with an imagined image or feeling. Though I may find it difficult to move on, this example may be used as a metaphor for the trauma
patient to see the importance of building a new world, since without the struggle, there would be no art.
I possess an emotional intensity and an intellectual curiosity to engage in my art, as depicted by reduced images of my internal being. When my self-discovery starts, the prime negative emotions cease, and I generate my own
healing medicine.
Since my soul profits from painting an innate representation of my world, without the need to justify or explain the result in concrete objects, I may find enough within to produce an aesthetically beautiful, emotionally moving and intellectually satisfying piece of art that does as much to create the world around us as nature itself.
When my spirit is fully awakened, I paint with my two hands and whole body. The randomness of painting abstract art without a clear perceived experience cannot be articulated easily, but it still may convey an aesthetically pleasing and emotionally engaging transmission of creativity that gives a deep meaningful experience.
As a lifetime painter, carefully observing the healing power of creativity, the artistic process allows me to explore the interior of my own mental images as if I am my own healer. I believe implanting an artistic creativity to supplement pharmacological help and/or cognitive behavioral therapy is very beneficial to any recovery process. The goal is not only to heal the body, but to give the spirit new hope in the face of change or loss.
I am a world traveler on a never-ending journey of discovery and personal growth, currently living in southern California.
